One of our users Yikes2000 ran the UnixBench test with both 2.4 and 2.6 kernels on Debian 3.0 and came across something very interesting.
The 2.6 kernel doubled the score of the 2.4, so unless everyone absolutely requires the 2.4 kernel I am highly recommending 2.6.
