Hi,
I wanted to make a suggestion coming from a brand new customer with unixshell. It seems that the hosting business can be pretty rocky with power outages, raid failures, datacenter problems etc....
With all the activity that takes place, what do you all think of some centralized way for unixshell staff to posting noteworthy events to the entire customer base. Just some default mail list or forum thread where messages affecting one or more VM machines is sent. As it is, we as customer have to raise our hand in the forum to find out about odd things with our servers. Posting the bulletins as they happen in a well publizied place would several complaints.
For example I am on VM 24 and ran across this post
http://www.unixshell.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3752
It seems that my RSA key is going to change and rather then wondering if someone is ease dropping on my account, I know that it is technical change and to be expected.
Again, to keep things easy just have one source (thread/mail list) for all customer wide messages.
This won't be much exta work as Matta winds up posting the bulletins on each individual complaint when a customer starts clammoring for an explination.
Finally, it will reassure us that use the unixshell staff is on the job and everything will be "All Right" engendering much greater understanding between staff and customers.
