So, I have the $15 plan you used to offer at Tektonic. Just wonder what you plan to do with us? I would be okay with moving to the 64 plan here.. but I'd definately need some notice as it takes awhile to move things. Probably no way I could keep the same IP if I moved?

We're not doing anything rotten, everybody who has an account at TekTonic is in no fear of being canceled. It just didn't make sense to maintain two services that target the same market. If you want to switch you can, but it is 100% voluntary.

Hi Matt!

Is there any advantage to moving from the Tektonic $15 plan to the Unixshell 64 or 96 plan? I mean aside from the extra space and bandwidth, would I get more cpu or something? I share the wealth with some of my friends by hosting them, and we tend to overbook slightly (We use about ~32MB RAM according to the Virtuozzo power panel) with memory, but I would be concerned about losing processing power as I like to have a little CPU when I need it.

What's the deal with Tektonic and Unixshell? I can't find any press releases or anything like that.

I don't have a whole lot of cash to spend, but the whole VPS thing really appeals to my inner geek. :)

Hi,

Actually, from everything I can tell people find the unixshell VPS to be much faster.. so no worries there. You should be very happy with the 96 plan.

As far as TekTonic and unixshell#, it's the same company... unixshell# customers will see it charged as TEKTONIC on their credit card statement. It's simply another "brand" that is targeting a different market which we feel has been grossly overlooked. Others that target the same market use User Mode Linux... Xen is MUCH faster than UML and I think at the moment we're the biggest "Xen powered" VM/VPS provider.
