My Linux distribution of choice is GoboLinux (http://www.gobolinux.org). While it is not popular now, it stands to grow in the near future because of its unique and friendly way of handling package management. Is there any way I can work with you to have this added? What do you need to know about it to make it easier? What do I need to know about your install process to tell you the location and format of certain configuration files? I'd be happy to do anything to help.
Thank you,

Will look into it... I might be able to take their live cd, remove all of the X related packages and provide that. I'm definitely looking forward to providing as many distros as possible as it is a key advantage for us. For example, Slackware... it's difficult if not impossible to find a reasonable dedicated server provider that will install Slackware for you. For this reason I chose to offer it as an image.

GoboLinux uses a kernel patch called GoboHide (http://gobolinux.org/index.php?page=doc/articles/gobohide) to deal with the unique file system layout. More information can be found at the link provided. I would suggest that you maintain you own unixshell# kernel as you already do and simply apply this patch to your current offerings. If there are any problems with the patch I can report back on it to the GoboLinux project and help work through any problems.
Thanks,
McKinley

I was not aware of this, but the GoboHide patch is completely optional. Quoting from the GoboLinux site:People who suggest this are also implicitly suggesting one of two things: to compile relative to a tree and then install relative to another; or to compile relative to a tree and then use a redirection hack on installation. I don't like any of the two approaches... I don't like the idea of an operating system built around a hack that can be at any moment circumvented by a new system call or some unorthodox access method. Some might say that GoboHide, for example, also falls in this ``low-level hack'' territory. I point out, then, that GoboHide is not mandatory: GoboLinux is designed to work with a vanilla Linux kernel.
Don't let the GoboHide patch hold up your research. It should work with your existing kernels.
Thanks again,
