Hi All,

I just found out about unixshell and it looks great but..

on Plan 32(yes, im cheap :))
its 32MB RAM and 64MB of Swap, can you really run a server on these specs? I know if i try to install Ubuntu on a PC with only 32MB RAM its not ganna hapen.

its just for personal use (a few mail accounts and some web space), but i'd like to get Hula up and running - is this possible on 32MB RAM?

Cheers

Don't know about Hula, but I've got Squirrelmail working on a 32 under Debian, and it works fine.

I don't think that Hula, out of the box, would run very well on a 32. It should run fine on a 64 from what I understand, but it takes up a fair amount of ram on its own.

I have exim4+lighttpd+fastcgi+SquirrelMail running a 32. It runs well, though it does slow down at times due to swapping.

I run Qmail and PHP/SQL powered web site on a 32. Performance is on the edge.
If you planning intensive usage - get 64
At all - SQL is a memory hog , you can squeeze it to 10 Mb, but it will be slow, it wants about 16-24 megs for mid load by itself.

A *small* LAMP setup will work fine on a "The 32".
