Hey,

It appears that the latest 2.6 kernel with vserver support (2.6.10-xenU-vs1.9.4) is lacking some iptable support...specifically nat. Unless I grossly misunderstand something--and let me know if I do--this makes networking the vservers a bit difficult ;)

It's about time to update this kernel to 2.6.11 + vs2.0 so i'll just make a new kernel and update when ready.

Great! I'm eager to play with vserver now that I've got some free time :)

vmlinuz-2.6.11.10-vs2.0-rc4-xenU is built and the latest linked to it. I highly support the Vserver project, it's where my roots began in server virtualisation (i'm mentioned on the site quite a few times). It is comparable to Virtuozzo in how it works, but the utilities interface are not anywhere near as refined (ie. to set some options you need to actually specify hex codes).

If you need help login to irc.oftc.net in channel #vserver. Bertl (Herbert - Leader) will be more than willing to help you. Feel free to drop my name, he will immediately recognize it.

Hopefully in the future after a few more features are ready we will be ready to offer a Vserver based service.

Thanks for the new kernel!

Too true...vserver isn't for the weak-souled. It seems very able, but there are some hoops to jump through when configuring and creating vservers...

I may hafta lurk around that irc channel for a while...Thanks for the tips!

btw, since you have some experience with vserver, did you have any suggestions on how to simplify the process of setting up the networking? Since you have to edit many config files to make sure services bind to the right address, it can be pretty time consuming to make sure you get them all...Any tips?

Thanks,
Brett
