View Full Version : TomCat and Java, JSP/Servlet
Hi,
I am considering host my testing site here, the site use TomCat, Java Servlet, JSP, XML/XSL.
Do you support these? I found somewhere in your forum you only support Apache. If so, is migrating from apache to tomcat(my official site) easy?
Thanks.

We don't 'support' any applications. Some of the OS images have Apache pre-installed. You are free to do whatever you like with your server, you have root , remote reboot, console, ability to reload/restore the data, etc.
Can I install TomCat and Java, Servlet, XML Parsers by my self?
If yes, what plan should I choose in order to run my website?
Thanks.

Yeah, you can install all of that yourself. Since Java is resource extensive, if you plan on using it on a moderately visited site, I would suggest anything above & including "The 192".

Java programs can be specified with their max mem/heap usage. I think the default is 256 or 512MB. Lowering this to 64-128MB can make it work on some of the lower plans.
The options are:
-Xms<size> set initial Java heap size
-Xmx<size> set maximum Java heap size
