Click on the help icon next to the password field in the reload form. In short, what it states is do not use any special characters for the password. Alpha-numeric only.

Hopefully this isn't a new change and those of us using "special" characters in our passwords aren't going to run into issues the next time we restart our VMs. As I rule I won't use a password with only alpha-numeric characters for anything "important" (e.g. a root account on a server).
I do stick to those I can type on the keyboard without resorting to using the ALT key though.

The problem was his VM name started with a digit and Xen will not start them up. I simply re-setup the account with a different VM/login name and it worked.
