Oh dear, my server seems to be completely dead!

I can't even log into the Teknic control panel as it keeps timing out!!!!!!

That wouldn't be a problem that I've caused would it? I assumed that the Teknic control panel runs seperately from the VS itself :(

Any ideas?

You wouldn't be on vm6 by any chance? If so I assume the server is having probs :(

Thanks for replying.

To be honest, I'm not sure mate - Theres no way to check either cause the machines down ;)

For the moment it's probably rational for me to assume that I am I guess lol

Thanks

Chris

Is this still an issue? I noticed that my server was out earlier as well, but started working again at around 10AM ET. Looks like VM6 was out. I submitted a trouble ticket at around 9:30AM ET, but it hasn't been updated so I'm not sure what the problem was.

Yes it was fixed around 10AM... was an odd problem, I needed to simply down the interface and then bring it back up and it worked (hence why the VM's show not being rebooted). Still trying to figure out what happened, we may try swapping the network card in this server if it happens again.

Hi,

I'm not being funny but isn't a server meant to have redundancy, etc?

Not generally for network cards...it has redundancy in the disk sub-system (RAID).

Did the interface go down again? Looks like I can't get to VM6...

...and again today at around 11AM? Is this the same problem?

Hi,

I had submitted a ticket with the datacenter to turn off the on-board nic of the server and install one of the network cards we keep on our rack there. I expected for this to be scheduled, but it was performed immediately. Everything should be back up shortly on a new network card.

Thanks for the update - hope the new NIC resolves the problem!

The NIC has been swapped and everything is back up (or coming up depending on your VM startup process).
