Excuse me for not reading up in depth on Xen's workings, but is there a way to get to the "virtual iron" level of the VPS, so we could perform FTP (or other) based installs of OS' that you don't have images for?

Since the service is unsupported anyway, it's definitely the kind of boring weekend (rare as they are) project (installing a random OS to see if it works) that myself (and probably others) would be interested in. Especially since we could always fall back on one of the provided images if it explodes.

Xen is it's own architecture so each kernel needs to be "ported" to the xen arch in order to function. New CPU technology in both Intel (Vanderpool) and AMD chips will allow for virtualization in the CPU and Xen will not require the port. At this time we will be any to run any operating system whether it be Linux, OpenBSD, MS-DOS, Windows, etc.

The timeline for the chips themselves is about 1 year, by the time they are mainstream and within price range for hosting services such as ours is around 2 years.
