A slight problem

Oh.. I'm first :)

I logged into the xen cp ok and installed debian sarge, reset my password and rebooted.

The cp gives 65.254.37.160 as IP number and gives me console access to
vm1.unixshell.com. What's the difference ? (65.254.37.160 doesn't resolve to vm1.unixshell.com)

I've assumed I should be going to vm1.unixshell.com. I'm using putty on an XP
box ..yeah I know but we're testing right :).

I get the briefest of logins - enough to see the "Last login banner" and then putty quits quickly. Putty works fine to all my other servers.

Ideas ?

Hi,

vm1.unixshell.com is the host server. 65.254.37.160 is the IP of your server. I forgot to include that after a reload you need to "Boot" the VM, it's in a shutdown state afterwards.

Then you can either ssh to 65.254.37.160 like you normally would with a server. If you want direct console access (to watch startup, fix problems, etc) you need to ssh as your username to vm1.unixshell.com.
