I noticed that I have the ability to download my servers snapshots. This is incredibly handy, since I can maintain various snapshots of different system states without having to fork over $5/month for each one. I just cant seem to find any way to upload them back to the server. Is there any way to actually restore a remotely stored snapshot?

Not as of yet. You would need to reinstall, upload the snapshot, and then untar the archive.

Ah. I see. Thats definitely better than nothing, just much more time consuming.
Also I dont even think "The 32" could even handle decompressing a multi-gigabyte archive. Hell, i'd be suprised if my 64 VPS could do it in under a day.

Hopefully there are other backups in case of a complete data loss (fire? *knocks on wood*). I occasionally download a snapshot before doing something risky, but in that event, you can upload only the changed files. It should also be possible to download a new snapshot after a problem occurs, find the differences, and upload the changed files.
Actually, I set up rsnapshot to make offsite backups. Every night, my desktop uses rsync to pull down all of the changed files, then uses hard links to make what looks like a full backup, but which only uses the space of 1 full + incremental backups. This works great... I have full backups for every day this week, plus every sunday for the past month, plus every 1st of the month for the past 6 (still working on that, actually). In the event of an emergency, I can very very easily restore individual files, or I could somehow push the files back to the server if need be. In that case, the time to restore the files is probably negligable compared to the time to recreate the lost data from scratch.
