I signed up for "The 32" on saturday and within a few hours my VM was ready to go, very impressed with the speed in which they got my VM setup. Since singing up I found the performance of the 32 to be to slow, I think mainly down to the fact that I was using more than 32MB of RAM so I was constantly waiting for swap-outs to the swap space.
I sent an email to the support and sales team asking to upgrade me to "The 64" and stated that I was not bothered by any down time or complete loss of data as I was still testing with the VM and could simply re-install. I also mentioned that I didn't mind signing up for a new account/package and cancelling my existing one if this would speed up the process of upgrading me.
Its been well over 48 hours since I opened the ticket and I was wondering, howcome a new VM can be setup within a matter of hours but an existing one cant be modified within an acceptable time-frame. I realise I have no understanding of the workings of Xen but surely its a matter of changing the amount of RAM/Disk Space and Bandwidth set for the VM to different numbers?
If its not an easy process, I also said that I dont mind setting up a new account - which, from my experience so far, can be done really quickly.
I have received an email saying "we are working on this, will be done by the end of the day"
Um, thanks, but you haven't done it by the end of the day and haven't really given me any information. It would be handy to know if I am going to loose the data, experience down time etc.
Perhaps someone on this forum knows some information and can fill me in.
Thanks
Stuart
