Hi, I had ordered a 256 plan from Unixshell. When I paid, the information displayed on the screen told me that my acct will be setup in 24 hrs. I waited more than 24 hrs and no sign of my acct being set up. Then Matt wrote to me sayng that they had to get new hardware and that they will get it on Sunday. Now it is Tuesday and there is no sign of my acct ever being setup. This is bad service. They don't deliver what they promise.
I have now signed up with another provider and have put in an ememrgency request to cancel this order and refund my cash. It is now 4 hrs since I put in that 'emergency' request and no one has even bothered to answer me.
This is just terrible service. When you say the acct will be setup in 24 hrs honor it. this is no way to treat customers. I only hope that you will now refund my cash ASAP without problems.
Please improve your customer service.
I signed up for a VPS on the 13th, my CC was billed the same day. My billing CP said my next invoice was due on the 15th, I assumed it meant my server would be ready then. However today is the 15th and it now says the 16th is the date of my next invoice. If there is infact a hardware problem It would be nice to have been notified of it before you billed me.

I just signed up last night. It hasn't yet been 24 hours, but I hope that it's up by then. This is the first hosting solution that I've been excited about trying. I hope slow/no setup doesn't kill it before it really gets going. At least post a new setups status on the forums somewhere.

I have good faith we'll be able to get everyone up by today... we will reset everyones renew dates to be equal to the date that you are actually setup, not the date you signed up. The amount of setups was completely unexpected and in the future we now have a growth curve to allow us to keep setting up host servers at a steady rate.

Thanks Matt - I don't mind waiting so long as you guys keep us informed on progress.
Like I said in my email, any hardware/configuration issues you guys are having is understandable. Just would've like to have been notified.
I'd just like to toss a few cents in:
I signed up about two weeks ago and have had no problems with the service. Any questions I had, matta has reponded within the hour. If there's a problem with setting your accounts up, I'm positive there's a good reason for it and that no shady service tactics are going on.
Also, the service is absolutely great. I have the 64 account and have noticed no lag on my server whatsoever.

From my experience with Tektonic and the unixshell beta test, I can say that Matt is an amazing admin. It sounds like he's a little more popular than he anticipated at the moment, but I expect things will smooth out.
For this kind of server stuff, it's actually reassuring to me that billing and sales are taking a back seat to server maintenance. What good is getting your server set up right away if it'll just crash in a few days because the admins are too busy setting up new accounts?
Good job Matt. :)

Despite saying that I need the order cancelled and that I need my cash back, and despite opening two tickets about it, I still have not got my money back. Also no one has bothered to reply to those 2 tickets either.
This only proves that customer service just sucks and sucks badly in this place
Please do cancel my order and refund my damn cash back and lets part peacefully.
Horrible service!!!!!!!!

I'm really sorry you guys are having problems getting the service set up...Mine was set up in about 6 hours or so. Don't give up on the service yet, I've seen far, far worse (ask me about Eryxma/Glexicon sometime--yeah, I got mixed up with them before I found Tektonic)..
I've been with Tektonic for about 9-10 months now, and their service was great, even though I regularly overbooked my vps, I only had crashing issues occasionally. Most of these people are not extremely technical, so I had cpanel installed, and cppop would fail on occasion. No big deal--it'd restart in a couple of minutes.
I remember when I first signed up at Tektonic, I sent in a "general questions" type trouble ticket..at about 10:30pm EST...it had about a half dozen questions about basic config issues as I was new to Cpanel/whm.. and got a response within FIVE minutes answering all of my questions. Seriously! I was sold on Tektonic at that moment. I even put in the ticket "this isn't really important, so if someone could get back to me when they've got a chance, I'd appreciate it.." I got all sorts of warm and fuzzies about that. :D
The new unixshell 96 plan works PERFECTLY for what I need. I host a bunch of my friends' sites and we hammer the holy he-double-hockey sticks out of mysql, and the performance is just outstanding. Fast, fast connections, no real server issues whatsoever. I seem to get all the processor time I need.
I'm an armchair php developer, so I need mainly bandwidth and disk space. I develop and test all my scripts on a linux box at home.. Tektonic/Unixshell really has something good going here.

Not for nothing man, but it takes a couple of days sometimes for charges and chargebacks to settle and appear on your account. Your bank probably has not received the settlement from your credit card company.
I work for an e-commerce company, so I know all about transactions and what-not. If matta said he refunded you, you'll see the credit in a couple of days, usually.

I actually gave him the transaction number as proof, but alas it's not good enough. Apparently it just settled yesterday so it will be another 2-3 days before it goes through all the inter-bank routing.

By the way Michael... since you say you want to part peacefully so bad, once you receive the refund in your bank statement you will of course admit publically that unixshell# did indeed provide you a refund and you were just being impatient?

I'm waiting on like 18 hrs, but I'ma wait a week before I get p***ed off.
I've read alot about -bad service- and some about good service, but they only seem to be good from along time ago.
Is there any admins around who can inform me of the current account setup status (they are or are not able to etc).
Thanks.
